Stealth is Ixnay's watchword. He loves sneaking into frays to deliver nasty throat slices, and then using Silent Running to duck to safety before his foes can react. But Ixnay is no cowardly jackal- indeed, his Thumbnailer is almost too destructive an attack to have available so early in the game.
